ComEd Serves Evanston for National Volunteer Week

In observation of National Volunteer Week, ComEd volunteers spent the day at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Center in Evanston, where they prepared the tomato garden for spring planting and worked to spread new mulch around the facilities playground. The community center also provides summer camp programs for children and is the oldest community center in Evanston.

ComEd’s year-round employee volunteerism and charitable giving programs support social service providers as well as organizations involved in education, arts & culture, environment and neighborhood development. In 2013, ComEd employees provided more than 11,200 hours of volunteer service to nonprofit organizations throughout northern Illinois. These donated hours have saved our nonprofit partners an estimated $270,000 in costs.
