Sustain Evanston to Host Networking & Planning Meeting October 5

164495078 sustain Evanston webThe City of Evanston invites community environmental leaders and activists to a “Sustain Evanston – Networking & Planning” meeting from 9:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, October 5, 2013. It will take place at the Levy Senior Center, 300 Dodge Avenue, Evanston. Formal organizations and grass-roots groups working in the areas of the environment, climate change, energy efficiency and other sustainability topics are encouraged to send two or three of their officers or representatives to this event.

The purpose of this meeting is to provide an update on the projects which were selected for collaborative work by the group this year and to facilitate ongoing dialogue and networking between groups who are working in these areas and help them foster better coordination, communication and cooperation for their mutual goals. Click here to view the agenda.

This meeting will also feature a presentation on the City’s participation in a new national sustainability rating system, STAR Communities, and an update on the new sustainability website, Evanston Green Buzz.
