Donate Home-Grown Produce Starting June 10

Local gardens are starting to fill with lettuce and other greens, which marks the beginning of Edible Evanston’s Food Sharing Initiative season. If you grow more than you need, let Edible Evanston help. Drop produce in one of the designated coolers, and the organization will donate it to a food pantry.

In North Evanston, pickups start June 10 at McCormick and Twiggs Community Gardens.

In South Evanston, pickups start June 12, 2016 at Elks Park Garden Plots and June 14th at James Park Community Gardens.

The program runs through the main growing season, with coolers out each week through October 15, 2016.
